I do a lot of Stuff, when people ask me how I do so many things, I usually answer, “It keeps me out of trouble” and while this is definitely true, it’s also true that creating for me is a way of life. I used to have this silly idea that you had to pick one thing to do in business and stick with only that, for me that was my work with hotels and interior design. After working in that field for over ten years, I started to realize that through it I was doing a whole lot more than just designing interiors and that those skills translated into a panoply of services I could offer to the public. That is what launched D. Dasher Creative.
Art in your home or business should have a personal touch. I specialize in creating artwork in a variety of mediums to do just that. My clients range from hotel groups and restaurateurs looking for unique visuals that bring a particular ambience into their spaces to individual home owners seeking to incorporate family or pet photos into unique one of a kind pieces. I specialize in determining the best medium to accomplish the client’s goal. This includes abstract colorfields painted on canvas or as wall murals to evoke a sense of movement and dance in a space in colors that have psychological meaning and promote well-being. Some of my work incorporates photography to do the same, or combines abstract and photographic elements together to create themed art that blends seamlessly into the interior space in which it will hang. Coming from a background in interior design, I feel art itself has a home and being mindful of that in its creation can propel it to the next level.I enjoy shooting people, places and things that evoke a sense of emotion, capturing moments in time that represent what it means to be uniquely human. I’ve worked on a lot of different projects ranging from Wedding & Event Photography, Portraiture, Animal Photography, Nature, etc. This life is so beautiful and it is an express privilege to have the opportunity to capture that in a photograph. People don’t hire me just to get a nice photo, people hire me to catch the true joy and essence of humanity that happen in the smallest moments of time.As an interior designer, I specify wall paint, wall-covering, wallpaper, wall tile and all manner of wall finishes on a daily basis. When I got to redoing my entire home space, I decided none of them quite hit the mark, I wanted something that could interpret the principles of Feng Shui, color theory, spirituality and my studies in energy into a wall finish that was uniquely me. This is when I birthed the concept of Spiritual Faux Finishing. I take a client’s energy and spiritual goals and formulate that into a wall finish to support their overall wellbeing and aspirations as a human being. The sky is really the limit, I enjoy projects that allow me to say something or help someone else say something with creative flair. What that actually looks like translates into what may seem like a hodgepodge of services. But what people really hire me for is my creativity and ability to take an idea, no matter how hair-brained or odd and formulate it into something that exists in the real world. Sometimes this is just a simple portrait session, where I use photography to capture the emotion and essence of who someone truly is or sees themselves as. Other times it’s creating a 30 foot mural for a restaurant that captures the essence of a town past, present and future into a unique piece of art that also evokes the feeling of what the owner is trying to achieve in the space.
